Blog Social networking

There are many technologies can be used in the corporate world. There are old technologies like ground mails, fax and telegram but now our new technologies are very advance like IT services, cloud storage, business class mail, business internet, intent messaging and etc. Nowadays in the corporate world, most of our works done electronically. The main reason was the computer invention.

There are a lot of advantages of the technologies to society. First, the development of technology is beneficial to humans for many reason. At the medical level, technology can provide a very advanced treatment and it can be very helpful to doctors and patients. For example, technology can help doctors to treat more sick people and save many lives, cure very harmful diseases and viral infections. Secondly, healthcare can benefit from technologies by helping lab research.

On the dark side, standards for communications are very poor on social media. If the communication is poor, then there will be problems and conflict between the doctor’s and patient’s understanding. For example, patience might read a wiki on health and get incorrect information because the authors on the wiki might not be professional doctors, since this is how wikis can work (Wikipedia on Wikis).  Also, social media produces media sensation (Gill 2004), which is very different from something serious like healthcare.

Term paper topic: New media and healthcare industry

My research topic for this course is the role of new media in the healthcare industry. I am interested in a career in the healthcare sector and hope to learn more about new practices in the industry involving new media. New media is changing every industry but the way it is affecting the healthcare industry is both good and bad. I will therefore be using the “Analysis” approach for my research paper, which compares positive and negative aspects of a topic.  New media can be good for the industry in many ways. For example, the doctor-patient relationship can be helped by video-calling or live-chats. Also, patients can find doctors and learn about them through social networks or sites for the healthcare community. Doctors can also connect with other doctors and collaborate on research through blogs, crowdsourcing sites and professional networks. Apps that are provided by new media are really helpful to the healthcare industry because they help store and share patient informa...

New media--such as social media, web and mobile technologies--are rapidly increasing usage in many modern industries.   All type of media is designed by humans, so there is no way you can expect social media to keep all your information safe and confidential. Most of us will never bother to read fine texts or terms and conditions but rush to sign up for any type of social media.   Let's take Facebook, for example; if you create an account on Facebook, and you are the only one person who will have access to it because you created it and that is your account. But Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg, who will have full access to all the Facebook user information because he is a founder of the software.   He can track anyone he likes because the user “agreed to the terms and policy” of Facebook. Users give permission to Facebook without realizing it.
